"Dear Sonny, Enclosed is my final payment on the work you did for me on Southwind II. Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your professionalism and the quality of work that they did on my boat. It cost me a bit more than I had hoped, but the work was done right and on time. I would certainly come back to Dog River for any marina work I needed on Southwind II."
Respectfully, Wayne Woods
"Dear Friends, Thank you so much for the kindness and caring you shared with us and the Celebration. We really felt like a part of the family. We are glad to be on our way, but miss the folks we leave behind.
Thanks for everything!"

Great Service at a Great Price, 2012-01-18 Captain: John Haluska, Memphis TN
High wooden piers. Free one night stay with fuel fill. Absolutely great service department. I stayed there in Jan 12. Nov '11, Nov 09, and April '08 Sonny (owner) is a man of his word. Highly recommend this facility. Great on service of any kind. Had electrical, eletronic, stabilizer, haul outs. Capt Bryson can solve any problem. Randy at the dock knows the local waters.
Excellent yard to have work done, 2011-12-25 Captain: Danny Fletcher, Corpus Christi, Texas
We had five or six jobs done with Sonny and his guys, the work was done on time, even though we added jobs. The price was fair to all. we had some minor damage on haulout, it was fixed without question. Excellent work.
Nice stopping point, 2011-11-06 Captain: Andy Jensen, Brookings
Enjoyed our stop there. Harbor guests can go over to the Mobile Yacht Club - oldest on the Gulf Coast & 2nd oldest in the nation.
Gateway to the TennTom, 2011-11-04 Captain: Bob Ackley, Gulf Breeze, FL
We stay at Dog River on our way up or down the TennTom. It is probably the last stop until Bobby's Fish Camp. Not fancy but good and capable with usually good prices for Diesel.
Great folks, nice stay, 2011-07-07 Captain: NativeTX, Port Aransas, TX
We recently stayed almost 2 months and had an overall good experience. As noted by a previous poster, this is a working marina, not a resort. It is a great place to have work done by top notch mechanics at reasonable prices. Slips are not in great shape and we ended up sitting on the bottom with our 6' draft and a seasonally low tide. We were moved to the transient dock the next day since we were ready to leave; plenty of water there. Staff was very accommodating. Very few grassy areas for a dog, but the marina is very dog friendly.
Not a resort, 2011-01-27 Captain: John Sagel, Cincinnati
We stayed here twice in the last year. Folks here a very helpful and friendly. The first time, we stayed for work to be done on boat. Prices were a bit high but the work was very well done. The second time we stopped for a few days and stayed on the transient dock. Everyone was helpful and the coutesy car was generally available and when not - Sonny offered his.
It is a working boat yard and not a resort but it is interesting to walk the yard and see the work going on. Coast Guard was rehabbing one of thiers while we were there.
Loopers get a night free when filling with fuel and West Marine is located on the property.
free dockage with fillup, 2010-12-21 Captain: Sterling, Key Largo
Free dockage with fill up 11/13/07, for loopers. also a west marine, laundry, loaner car. Takehe car to Wintzells for oysters @ happy hour for $1,50 a dozen and $2 well drinks. Dockmaster went out of his way to insure we had a car for Wintzells.
A little disappointed, 2010-10-25 Captain: Sea Al, Stuart, Fl
I have read about this place for years, and it seems that I am the only one who was disappointed. It is a working boat yard and it feels like it. Absolultely no where to walk a dog, and the place has trash everywhere. The docks were fixed with short fingers, so it was a chore to tie up for the night. The quote I got for fiberglass was 5 times what I was qouted in Michigan from two different fascilities!!!! Not just a little higher!
All that being said, they are nice folks and they have a West Marine right there. Also a nice yacht club accross the street on the bay, which you can use.
Great Facility, 2009-12-11 Captain: Vaughn, Charlotte Harbor, FL
Great Stop for a night or longer ,Quality Repair Facilty, Wonderful Staff, Car and Shopping Close by.
Good Stop, 2009-11-22 Captain: Jim Q, Spring Lake, MI
Weathered a Tropical Storm Ida here....good group of folks!
Also pulled the boat for bottom, zincs, maintenance....professional yard!
Great people, great service, 2009-01-18 Captain: Tim Smith, Yucaipa, CA
Having a choise of hundreds of marinas, we elected to leave our boat at DRM while we returned to California for an extended period. It was a wise choise as they have taken very good care of our boat.
This is my second time in the area but the first time at Dog River, 2007-07-25 Captain: Hieronymos, Chicago
This is a full service marina/boat yard. The transient docks are lay along docks connected to the fuel dock. The people running the fuel dock are friendly and helpfull. The repair facilities are top notch and can handle about any type of repair although they are not cheep.
Great Service, 2007-02-22 Captain: Gregory, Snellville, GA
My fourth time here and as always the very best of service in very well protected waters. Anything your boat needs can be done here!

I would like a moment to say thanks to each and everyone of your staff that participated in the repair of my yacht, "High Flight".
The professionalism I saw in the final repair is above reproach.
Your staff did great work and I thank them for their efforts.
Your consideration in passing these words of favorable communication to those who performed a significantly impressive repair job will be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their hospitality and professional, courteous service. We left your harbor at 7am and on our way to Panama City with everything running smoothly. Thanks to your fast turn-around on our props we only lost two days. We will make it home in time. Also, please tell Sonny we had an excellent meal at the Mobile Bay Yacht Club. Thanks for advising them. Take care and we will share our very positive experience with all our boating friends.

Dog River Marina is a perfect stopping off point for those coming down the Tenn-Tom to rest and repair before continuing on the Great Loop. They are an AGLCA sponsor and are highly accommodating to transit boaters. There is fuel, water, pumpout, and snacks at the fuel dock. There is a courtesy car and also a West Marine store. THE ENTIRE STAFF IS FRIENDLY, HELPFUL AND COMPLETELY AWESOME!!
This is not a resort marina but rather a full-service working boat yard that does skilled and professional installation and repair of any vessel system and can accommodate any needs of a mariner, from new electronics to restoration of a classic wood boat.
I've been so impressed with them that I've left my boat in their care.
The professionalism I saw in the final repair is above reproach.
